DESCRIPTION:
The MP5 is one of the world's most popular machine pistols, it has been in service with countless
law enforcement and military personnel since its introduction in 1966, and continues to serve even
now with production continuing into 2015. it is has been adopted by over 40 nations and is one of the
favoured weapons of British law enforcement agencies and special forces groups. It has been featured
in countless video games and films and is one of the world's most recognisable weapons.
Even after the introduction of the H&K UMP in the late 90's the MP5 remains as popular as ever, and is
still just as combat-capable as any other PDW available on the market.
As we have come to expect from CYMA the quality of this replica is right up there with the best of the best
for their price range - some people still see CYMA as one of the "cheaper low end" manufacturers but this
really does not do them justice; Yes they make cheap-o "toy" weapons with all plastic bodies and gears,
but their proper skirmishing line of weapons are at complete polar opposites.
This model of Mp5 is one of the most well known models and features the classic "Mp5 look" - the larger
handguard makes the weapon very comfortable to aim with and gives you a decent sized area to place
your hand when shooting, while the retractable stock offers an extra degree of adaptability!
In terms of construction, this mimics the real weapon by having a metal upper receiver with a polymer
lower - the lower feels similar to that of a G36 in the fact that it is very "thick" and doesn't flex, while
the upper feels reminiscent of a high-end AK dust cover - this is a very nice mixture of build and
gives a reasonably weighty gun that turns out to be fairly balanced even with the gearbox/battery
compartment.
Performance wise this MP5 is, as stated above, a little hot out the box - some field sites will allow you to
use this with a simple minimum engagement rule meaning at close range you must fire single shot, while
others will limit you to single shot all game - it is advisable to be sure of the rules before turning up just
so you are aware beforehand. A simple spring swap would bring this down to a level that is site legal even
for CQB, while a change to a stronger hop up would likely bring this down to the 340~50fps range.
when looking at the actual performance of the weapon in a game, the accuracy and range are comparable
to that of an M4CQBR because of the slightly shorter-than-average barrel. this being said - the range is not
something to be scoffed at with the weapon easily making kill shots at the 30Mtr range; and with the hop
set right 40mt is no real issue either. The size of the weapon makes it more suited to a fast-paced scout
or someone who enjoys being the first to an objective - even with the heavy use of metal at 3kg this is no
heavyweight meaning you can happily run around all day without tiring yourself out! all in all, a great
weapon but in need of a *SLIGHT* downgrade if you plan to play CQB with it.
